Are my dentures permanent?

No. That’s because your mouth is always adjusting its shape, while the denture stays the same. Over time, for example, ridges shrink as bone recedes. Supporting tissues also change. These things happen differently with each person. They depend upon overall health and how well ridges are cared for.

Dentures usually last three years. If they become loose or your face changes shape, it’s time to have them rebased, relined or remade.
