I am relatively new to Dentures/implants. I had full mouth extractions in October, with many setbacks and additional surgeries along the way- tooth roots removal, tori removal, alveoplasty, and finally implants. All were performed at different times. May 25-ish was my most recent surgery for a gum graft. I have only been able to wear my dentures off and on since October 2018. It was like every time my mouth would heal, they put me through another procedure. I finally went to a specialist for implants. I hope to have my overdentures in August.
My biggest issue has been the sore, dry, achy gums. It seemed no matter how much water I drank; my mouth was always dry, even without the Dentures since I have not been able to wear them since May.
After I had a gum graft around one of the implant posts, I was super worried about messing it up with brushing and regular toothpaste. I had heard how gentle the Cleanadent paste was and that it helps with a dry mouth, so I thought I would give it a try. I was amazed by how well it actually worked for the dry mouth. I no longer feel like I have to drink gallon upon gallon of water just to keep my mouth moist. Both my husband and I noticed a marked improvement in just 3 uses of the toothpaste. My mouth feels for lack of a better description silky. It does not constantly hurt anymore, and I can let my mouth relax instead of constantly clenching my lips on my gums.. Whenever my mouth starts to feel like it is getting dry or achy, I just go brush again and I get a few more hours of relief.
I will definitely be recommending these products to anyone willing to listen. They just work!
I really think if I had these products from the beginning of the process, I may have healed faster or adjusted better to having huge chunks of plastic in my mouth. I just think starting out with the right products is the best way to go.
